Current Treatment Modalities and Clinical Standards for HIV Patients
In this one-hour intensive review of current HIV pharmacotherapy, we will dive into the HIV treatment cascade and discuss how pharmacists in Minnesota are able to positively impact outcomes for people living with HIV/AIDS through collaboration with care-coordinators and other support services. We will also quickly review the pipeline for HIV therapies and discuss the future of HIV treatment.
- Explore the nuances of the HIV treatment cascade at the state and national level.
- Discuss currently available HIV pharmacotherapy and goals of HIV treatment.
- Identify barriers to HIV treatment.
- Explain ways for pharmacists to maximize outcomes in patients living with HIV/AIDS.
- Describe care coordination and support services that are offered in Minnesota.
Speaker: Daniel Jude, PharmD, AAHIVP, CSP
Daniel Jude is the Manager of Specialty Clinical Services at Fairview Specialty Pharmacy and has served on the board of directors for Minnesota AIDS Project, Minnesota’s largest AIDS Service Organization, for over 4 years. He is a faculty member with Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center's Minnesota chapter. He is a Certified Specialty Pharmacist and a certified in HIV pharmacy. Daniel earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa, College of Pharmacy in 2008.
