MPhA ACADEMIES
MPhA recognizes the diverse areas of practice in Minnesota. Academies were formed as a mechanism
to meet the needs of the individualized practice settings. MPhA members have the opportunity to participate in one primary
Academy and, for a nominal fee, secondary Academies of interest. Members are encouraged to contact the leadership from your academy
to report issues.
ACADEMIC
Comprised of MPhA member pharmacists or associates who have academic positions at a college of pharmacy or are
graduate students or fellow residents in pharmacy.
CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Pharmacists and associates who own or are responsible for the management of a chain pharmacy. Chain pharmacy
is defined as four or more pharmacies.
COMMUNITY PHARMACY
Pharmacists or associates who practice in community, out-patient clinic pharmacy or home health care
practice settings.
HOSPITAL
Pharmacists and associates who work in hospitals, in-patient clinics, institutionalized settings or home health care.
INDEPENDENT OWNER
Pharmacists and associates who have a financial investment in or are corporate officers in an independent pharmacy.
INDUSTRY
Pharmacists or associates engaged in the pharmaceutical manufacturing or wholesaling industries.
LONG-TERM CARE
Pharmacists and associates who work in and/or provide services to long-term care facilities or home health care settings.
MANAGED CARE
Pharmacists and associates who are engaged in providing consultative pharmacy benefits and/or pharmaceutical services in the managed care sector.
