The goal of American Pharmacists Month is to promote your profession and get the attention you deserve among your peers, patients and community. The American Pharmacists Association offers a wealth of suggestions to help inspire you. Here are just a few ideas:
Make time for face time: Schedule special events where patients can meet and talk to a pharmacist — and promote vaccinations, flu shots, or host health screenings.
Host local leaders: Invite your state legislators to your pharmacy to show how your pharmacists conduct MTM, immunizations, and patient education.
Serve healthy lessons for lunch: Ask local businesses if you can come in during employee lunch hours to make presentations about safe medication usage and answer questions about medications.
To kick off American Pharmacists Month, many organizations participated in a Global #Pharmacist Tweet-a-Thon on October 1. Many thousands of tweets spoke to the value that pharmacists in all settings provide to the patients in our care.
