2009 MEDICARE PART D PLAN RENEWALS

Many Medicare Part D plans are changing this year and it is very important to get the message out to Medicare Beneficiaries and their caregivers that their Medicare Part D plan should be reviewed to make sure it will still be the best plan for them in 2009. Plans that may have worked for beneficiaries in the past may not cover the same medications, may have higher monthly premiums, may have different pharmacy networks, or may not offer coverage in the coverage gap as it did in the past.

SSA "Help with Medicare Prescription Drug Costs"
The new Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 (P.L. 108-173), enacted December 8, 2003, requires the Social Security Administration (SSA) to undertake a number of additional Medicare-related responsibilities. SSA and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are working together to provide persons with limited income and resources extra help paying for their prescription drugs. Social Security's role in this partnership is to help the public understand how they may qualify and apply.
