Get Involved in Your Association

You are the driver of our association! We rely on the leadership of our members who volunteer to be on our Board of Directors or join a committee and/or academy. Volunteering is a meaningful way to share your voice, build professional connections, and advance the profession of pharmacy in Minnesota.

Submit your interest year-round to let us know you are interested in serving in one of these capacities.

To express your interest in volunteering, do the following.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and oversight for MPhA. Board members help set organizational direction, steward resources responsibly, and ensure that member-driven priorities are reflected in our work. Serving on the Board offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of the profession and represent pharmacists across the state.

  • Candidates are reviewed in March-May. The voting ballot goes out to our membership in July-August. New Board members are sworn into office at the MPhA Annual Conference in October
  • Terms are two years, and members may serve multiple terms

Committees

MPhA committees focus on specific areas such as education, membership, advocacy, communications, and practice advancement. Committee service allows members to contribute their skills and interests to targeted initiatives while collaborating with colleagues who share similar passions.

Academies

MPhA academies bring together members with common practice areas or professional interests. Participation provides opportunities to connect with peers, share expertise, and help develop programming and resources that support pharmacists throughout their careers.

  • Academies are open groups of people with shared interest and terms do not apply; we ask you to remain in the academy for a year if you are appointed
