  • Describe the BCBS Enhanced MTM Model

Speaker: Joshua Johnson, PharmD, BCGP

Joshua Johnson graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Biology in 2004, and then went on to obtain his PharmD from Ferris State University in Michigan in 2008. Upon graduating, he returned to Minnesota where he practiced as a community pharmacist for 8 years. In 2016 he was hired by ClearStone Solutions, an affiliate of BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota and a Part D Plan administrator, to run the 5-year CMMI Enhanced MTM Pilot on behalf of the BlueCross BlueShield Northern Plains Alliance in Part D Region 25 (IA, MN, MT, ND, NE, SD, & WY). His current role provides EMTM program design and implementation, vendor management & oversight, as well as coordination with both CMMI and the plan participant. He is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist, is currently a member of the Clinical Advisory Group for the DaVinci Project, the MTM Advisory Group for AMCP, and the Value Set Committee with the Pharmacy HIT Collaborative.
