Tom McKennell passed away surrounded by family on March 27, 2018, at the age of 90. A retired faculty member from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, where he spent 25 years a director of continuing education, Tom also served as secretary/treasurer of the Century Mortar Club. He is remembered by the College of Pharmacy as an exceptional ambassador of the college and a caring person who worked tirelessly to bring continuing education to all regions of the state.
Tom was a recipient of the University of Minnesota's Pharmacy Alumni Society Distinguished Pharmacist Award. He received the Hallie Bruce Memorial Lecture Award from the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists in 1982; the award recognizes an individual of high moral character, good citizenship, and high professional ideals who has made significant contributions to the profession of pharmacy in Minnesota.
All are invited to join his family at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. in Stillwater, on Friday, April 27. Visitation is 4-6 p.m., followed by the service then dinner. The burial will take place at the Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough Ontario later this summer.
