The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) has confirmed with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that its offices, including those involved in registration and diversion, are open and operational during the government shutdown. Pharmacists who have issues related to registration are encouraged to email DEA at: firstname.lastname@example.org (be sure to include your DEA registration number in your email). Those needing support for DEA’s Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) can complete a CSOS Support Request Form at: https://wwwdeaecom.gov/cda-docs/help.asp.
Due to minor technical issues with call lines, APhA advises pharmacists to use online communications like those noted above. Pharmacists can also locate field office registration program specialists by clicking here. If you encounter issues and cannot reach DEA, please email Jenna Ventresca, APhA Dir. Health Policy (email@example.com), detailing your issue, including methods of communication attempted.
