Morning Sessions

Keynote: Advocating with Your Legislators: The Do's and Don'ts of Making Your Case

The Honorable Roz Peterson, former Minnesota House of Representatives member representing District 56B, business woman and Realtor

On a daily basis, our community engages elected officials with the goal of successfully advancing pro-patient and pro-pharmacy policy priorities. At the same time, advocates for other causes make their views known to members of Congress and their positions can be contrary to pharmacy's goals. Sheer engagement was enough in years' past, however today's constant buzz of competing priorities requires even stronger advocate and policymaker relationships to secure our legislative victories. In this dynamic session, you'll learn first hand from the Honorable Roz Peterson how to effectively make your case.

After participating in this session, attendees should be able to:

  • Build relationships with policymakers and the right congressional staffers.
