Risk is part of the world of pharmacy. When risks aren’t managed, they turn into claims that impact business results and that can threaten the survival of the organization. Learn about the kinds of claims we see on a daily basis, and things you need to know to keep them in check.

Presenter: Michael L. Warren, ARM, OHST

Mike is the Risk Manager for Pharmacists Mutual. Based in Algona, Iowa, Pharmacists Mutual provides insurance products and services to  pharmacies in the United States and Puerto Rico. In his role as Risk Manager, Mike is responsible for developing strategies to help the organization and its customers manage risk. Mike’s duties include serving as the Executive Editor of Pharmacists Mutual Risk Management, and enterprise risk management for the corporation. Mike is a frequent speaker on risk management at state associations, buying groups and pharmacy schools.

Prior to joining Pharmacists Mutual, Mike held various positions in the insurance and brokerage world working with organizations ranging in size from small business to Fortune 100 to prevent or mitigate financial loss from unplanned events. 

Mike has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Illinois State University in Occupational Safety with postgraduate studies in Ergonomics at the University of Michigan. He is an Associate in Risk Management and a board certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist.

Continuing Education:

This presentation is being submitted to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for Continuing Education credit approval (one hour).

To receive Board of Pharmacy credits for this program the following must be completed:

  • Full participation/completion of webinar either during the live program or the archived presentation

  • Completion of survey post webinar acknowledging participation

Board of Pharmacy credit processing takes place on the 15th of each month.

The Minnesota Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
