During this webinar, we plan to review the current approach to pharmacogenomic testing in the field of medicine. In addition, discuss the details and depth of pharmacogenomics while explaining the impact of pharmacogenomics on the future of the field of medicine. In the end, we will explore the implementation of pharmacogenomics in clinical practice.
Presenter: Kandace Schuft, PharmD
Kandace Schuft, PharmD is a Clinical Pharmacist at OneOme. She strongly believes precision medicine, specifically pharmacogenetics, is a valuable tool to optimize medication safety and efficacy, ultimately improving patient health outcomes. In addition, pharmacists, working in collaboration with other healthcare providers, have the opportunity to lead pharmacogenomics initiatives. Dr. Schuft received a B.A. and a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree with honors from the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy. She then went on to complete a Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Residency at Unity & Mercy Hospitals, Allina Health System.
Presenter: Mathura Shanmugasundaram, PhD
Dr. Mathura Shanmugasundaram is a Medical Science Liaison at OneOme and a research scholar of the clinical trials research and epidemiology program at Harvard Medical School. She is deeply passionate about personalized medicine and strongly believes in using advances in science and technology to optimize and improve healthcare. Dr. Mathura possesses more than 7 years of scientific research experience and training from top international institutions in Europe, Singapore, and the USA She graduated with an honors degree from the National University of Singapore in biomedical sciences and later obtained her PhD with distinction in genetics from Institut Pasteur, Paris.
